One River School of Art and Design will present “Art Rocks”, a music and art event, in Veterans Memorial Park near Depot Square in Englewood on Sunday, September 15 from noon to 5PM. “Art Rocks” will feature live performances by student bands from School of Rock Waldwick and School of Rock Tenafly as well as performances from students at the Bergen PAC Performing Arts School. There will also be a variety of art demonstrations and activities, as well as a group interactive art project that will be the largest of its kind ever created in Bergen County. “Whether you’re a music lover, an art lover, or both, ‘Art Rocks’ will offer lots of exciting options for Bergen County families looking for a fun way to spend a Sunday afternoon in Englewood,” says Matt Ross, founder of One River School of Art and Design. “The festivities will also mark One River’s one-year anniversary, and we’re looking forward to showing off some of the impressive works that our students have created over the past twelve months.”
Along with the offerings that will be going on in the park, One River will also be presenting the opening of their annual gallery exhibition entitled “Two River” at their space on 49 N.Dean Street. “Two River” will feature works by five young emerging female artists who live and work in Brooklyn, NY. Artists who will be participating in the event include painter Mira Dancy, a graduate of Bard College and Columbia University School of the Arts; painter Amy Lincoln, whose work has been shown in France and China; painter Yengeniya Baras, a graduate of University of London and University of Pennsylvania; painter Lauren Portada, whose work has been shown at Indira Gandhi National Center of Art in New Delhi, India; and painter/sculptor Eve Lateiner, a graduate of University of Pennsylvania whose work has been shown at MOMA P.S. 1.
“Art Rocks” will take place at Veterans Memorial Park (Depot Square between N.Dean Street and East Street) and the opening of “Two River” will take place at One River Gallery at 49 N.Dean Street, both in Englewood.
